bw~61kg. 90kg snatch 7 days out from the Wolrds and 108kg C&J 9 days out. Bonus 110kg clean.
Getting the situation with my knees under control mid August meant I could actually start training properly again. We didn’t change my training too much to be cautious, but we defiantly knew we could start pushing the weights higher. YAY.
In the end the training leading up to the worlds was one of the best cycles I’ve done. In snatch I was still hitting the same numbers as I had in the 64kg category which seemed pretty amazing to me. Even the clean and jerks were feeling good as we got closer to the competition. In the last max out session I hit 108kg with ease, cleaned 110kg twice but didn’t quite manage to hit the jerk.
I felt so good, but I knew I had to keep my focus and I didn’t expect a free ride at the worlds. I knew I would have to put all my effort in if I wanted to hit anything close to what I had hit in training.
I really felt and still do feel like my mental game leading up to the worlds was soooo good. I felt confident but not overconfident, I was calm and focused.
